PMO and Application Specialist Martin Mihkelson
Project Manager Martin Mihkelson enjoys meeting people and learning new things on the job.
“I came into the industry through a summer job in 2010. At that time, I was working as a cleaner. From 2013, I continued working with office duties, first at Kiinteistöhuolto Sami and then at Kotikatu. My work included telephone customer service and registering work.
After a few years, I gained more responsibility and got into invoicing. Later, I was given more responsibility as a customer service supervisor. From customer service, I moved on to become a Force Application Specialist. Since 2024, I have been working as a Project Manager for PHM on integration projects for new companies.”
About work and everyday life
“In my current role, I am closely involved in various development projects. I work as a Project Manager on integration projects where new local companies acquired by PHM are integrated into a larger entity. I monitor the progress of the project tasks and ensure that the new company is smoothly integrated into PHM Group. It’s a lot of work, but I like the fact that I get to do everything new. In this role, you have to tolerate a lot of unfinished business, because there are a lot of things to do, and they move forward in stages.
I also work as an Application Specialist and train employees in property maintenance and cleaning tasks and guide them on how to use the mobile app needed for their jobs.
We have a really nice team that I get to work with every week. The best thing is when there’s a good free discussion during work. I’ve been able to tailor my own job description and working methods to my own needs. At the same time, together with my colleagues, I think about how we can work together to promote things throughout the PHM Group – both in Finland and elsewhere. I also collaborate with colleagues in other countries.”
About values and life
“I have a desire to develop and learn new things all the time. I also think I am good at listening, learning and improving what I do. I am easily excited by new things and if I take on a task, I try to do it as well as possible.
I like working with people. People and all encounters are wonderful! I enjoy visiting local companies to see how they work. At the same time, I’m learning more and more about the property services industry. I enjoy the freedom to do things the way I see fit best. I feel that I can combine responsibility and freedom in my work. The upbeat and relaxed nature of this industry is definitely a good thing about the job – people are nice and I always feel warmly welcome when visiting local companies.”
